Family Life Center supports the Wyandanch School District’s mission of ensuring a comprehensive, high quality education by providing services that complement classroom instruction and encourage student success. FLC enhances, promotes, and develops tutorial and academic success programs, and is committed to creating an inclusive, supportive, student-centered learning environment, which stimulates critical thinking and learning.
We use sports and recreation programs to engage disconnected youth in pro-social activities, encourage teens to participate in regular physical fitness and to connect community youth to other on-site services like educational support
Family Life Center hosts an intensive two-week coding camp. In partnership with National Center for Women & Information Technology and Girls Who Code, the students learned entry level coding skills, met with female mentors and visited the NYC Google campus to encourage their interests in coding and STEM disciplines.
Two important goals of the Absolute Summer Camp are to provide a safe, full day camp for children grades K-6 and to serve as a training ground for local youth workers.
